Dear Readers,
Aside from being the head elf of Christmas Town, I’m also a pretty big hot cocoa (or “ho-cho” as young Jolly calls it) aficionado. I love cocoa, especially the peppermint fudge hot chocolate Busch Gardens serves during Christmas Town. I mean, it’s not just peppermint hot cocoa, it’s peppermint fudge hot cocoa. It’s so decadent and delicious. Which made me think, what are some other ways that you could dress up hot chocolate?
Jolly and I put our heads together and came up with these twists on the classic cocoa:
- Add a little bit of coffee for a caffeinated kick
- Blend in ice for a chilled-out cocoa
- Sprinkle a little green and red sanding sugar over the whipped topping to add a little festive flair
- A couple of malt balls or malted powder for a sweet treat straight from the soda shoppe
- Show friends your crafty side with some DIY marshmallows
- If you’re an elf or human over the age of 21, you can even add a dash of cream liqueur for an adults-only hot cocoa
Of course, my favorite way to have hot cocoa….is served to me in a festive mug at Busch Gardens.
Sometimes when you’re double-checking the naughty and nice list, overseeing the present wrapping and checking in on the penguins, you simply don’t have time to make a cup of fancy hot chocolate. That’s why it’s nice to be able to grab a cup of ho-cho to go! They even have a variety of flavors that you can try-no mess involved.
What’s your favorite way to have cocoa?
Cheers,
